Special Guests for a Special Event

A new sign went up on our back gate today …

and our backyard officially has “No Vacancy” for the next several days as we entertain

Diesel (HUGE . HUGE . HUGE teddy bear of a dog!! – 140 lbs.)

and his little brother, Petro (best ball-fetcher alive!)

“How did we come to host these fine fellows?”, you may be wondering.  Well, it’s all because of this guy, Dave –

He’s somewhat of a Prince Charming-type who rode in on his white (ok – grey) truck yesterday and is planning to leave town with a new bride following their wedding this Sunday.  That lucky (blessed) young lady is none other than our very own dear Stephanie, who has served as Pre-K and Kindergarten teacher these last four years at St. Johns –

Tee hee!! I couldn’t resist a fun photo.  Steph was in a 5K on Halloween and this was her costume.  Isn’t she adorable?  Now you know why we love her so much!!

Little did we know when they celebrated Christmas with us after being snowed in here in Sleepy Eye in 2009 …

that Dave would eventually put this on Steph’s finger.

And the rest, as they say, is history.  Awww …

So these two plan to tie the knot here –

at the Chapel of the Christ at Martin Luther College!  What an amazing setting, don’t you agree?

we also get to have special guests of our very own, just outside the back door!
